What do our parents think about the Enhanced Learning/IB Programme?
"As parents of two Korah IB programme graduates and one child continuing at Korah as an IB student, we certainly recommend this quality program as an excellent option for high school education. The diversity of learning opportunities in the classroom as well as the community, the advanced level of academics and the development of critical thinking skills are but a few of the IB programme characteristics that we have observed as parents. The gradual preparation of managing and priority setting of workload throughout the 2 years of Enhanced Learning and 2 years of IB studies are invaluable for preparing students for university studies. We are very fortunate in Sault Ste.Marie to have the IB program option within our public school system."

"The Enhanced Learning/International Baccalaureate Programme is a challenging, unique and inspired high school curriculum. Our children have been exposed to a variety of world views through IB and have thrived in a challenging academic environment. The enthusiastic and specially-trained group of teachers are committed to preparing students for a world beyond Korah. IB graduates leave
high school with well-developed critical thinking, time management and problem solving skills. Learning happens beyond the classroom too. IB students are active in the community volunteering, performing and leading. Many even complete an exploration of the natural world through a series of expeditions along the Lake Superior coast. Two of our children are IB graduates and a third is studying in the IB Programme. Each of them has enjoyed a cohesive and inclusive peer attitude, an environment that fosters learning and embraces diversity. As parents we strongly recommend Korah and the IB experience for your children."

What do our graduates think about the Enhanced Learning/IB Programme?
“I am for the IB programme. At Harvard the majority of students completed the IB programme in high school and I believe that it not only was one of the key reasons I was accepted into my university, it also ensured that I was equally prepared in comparison to my cladsmaraduatetes. If faced with the opportunity again, I would certainly choose to do IB. Not only is it personally satisfying to complete the different requirements for the International Baccalaureate diploma, I feel that it gives the opportunity for a well rounded education. I studied chemistry, biology and advanced math - classes I would not have taken otherwise. It also assisted me with very important skills to have in university: time management and organizing work and extra curricular. Overall, I feel that the IB programme is challenging but very fulfilling.”
Jennie McKee, Harvard University, Environmental Science and Government, Public Policy
“IB has helped prepare me for university in that I am able to manage a busy schedule and heavy workload without letting the stress of it all become too overwhelming. The IB programme has also helped me to determine the study and learning techniques that best suit me so that I can now apply them when studying for university tests and exams.”
Karina Seto, McMaster University, Engineering
"School is going well, and I am enjoying all of my classes. It seems that at the University of Toronto, a large majority of the students attended private high schools, so having an IB diploma definitely helps to put me on a level playing field. At this point, I would say that IB has helped me in history class because of the high level of analysis that is required. The subject matter is somewhat familiar to me, and that allows me to focus more attention on other classes. I also am thankful for the friendships that I made through the IB program and it helped to be with a group of students who were as focused as I was."
Tori Prouse, University of Toronto, Honours Bachelor of Arts (Economics)
"My second year organic chem class is going well so far. I’m glad I took the transfer credit otherwise I would literally be learning about the periodic table all over again, as well as how to draw Lewis structures... I find that IB definitely helped me with my time management. I love university! Let everyone in this year’s graduating IB class know that it’s ACTUALLY worth it. The transfer credits, and learning how to time manage and study, makes everything I'm doing now review."
Jessica Gencarelli, University of Western Ontario, Biological and Medical Science
"I am in second year chemical engineering, in the biochemical option, completing a dual degree in biochemistry, with course titles that still scare me; but I’m reviewing and completing the fundamentals that I learned in IB classes. I am even requesting that my parents mail me my Chemistry IB Study Guide as it summarizes a lot of useful concepts. What you will learn in Ms. H’s Chemistry class will be applicable later on in your studies. And if you aren’t headed towards science, the same skills you develop from studying and understanding the chemistry concepts are just as useful in any field. As a second year student, I can guarantee you the same holds true. Keep up what you are doing, have the end in sight; you are about to accomplish something remarkable."
Allister Smith, Queen’s University, Chemical Engineering
