The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (DP) is a comprehensive two-year curriculum that aims to develop students who have exceptional breadth and depth of knowledge. Students study six different subject groups, along with the core components of theory of knowledge (TOK), creativity, activity, service (CAS), and the extended essay (EE). The core elements allow students to reflect on the nature of knowledge, learn about their part in our global village, and complete independent research.

The DP is an exceptional pathway to university; graduates have a greater opportunity to be accepted at their university and program of choice. Students are better prepared for the rigours of university study due to their development of refined time management and organizational skills. Typically, IB graduates achieve a significantly higher academic average than their counterparts and maintain their awards and scholarships more consistently. See www.ibo.org for more information.

The bridging program to the DP is the Enhanced Learning (EL) program. Students in grade nine and ten study their academic courses at the Enhanced level, learning content and skills, which extend or enhance the curriculum.

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is a widely recognized two-year university preparatory, comprehensive international curriculum that allows graduates to fulfill the requirements of various national education systems. Mastery of subject content, global mindedness, rigorous assessment standards, development of critical thinking and research skills all help students prepare for success at post-secondary institutions in North America and abroad. The IB Programme allows students to investigate disciplines at greater depth and breadth than they might normally.

Enhanced Learning Programme

The Enhanced Learning Programme is an academic regimen which introduces students to an enhanced curriculum during their grade 9 and 10 years. The purpose of the Programme is to prepare individuals to enter the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in their grade 11 and 12 years.

International Baccalaureate Programme

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is a demanding two-year, pre-university course of study leading to examinations for highly motivated students, ages 16 to 19. This programme requires students to attend Korah Collegiate during their International Baccalaureate studies in grades 11 and 12. However, it is highly recommended that students first complete the Enhanced Learning Programme at Korah Collegiate in grades 9 and 10. Contact the school for more information about student transfers and applications to grade 10 or grade 11.
