STAGGERED ENTRY Sept 8 to 11, 2020 & Other Info
Algoma District School Board has adopted the following staggered entry plan to provide time and space for staff to establish health and safety routines, movement in the school, locker allocation and orientation activities, where applicable:
- TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8th, 2020 - Grade 9 only (+ Grade 7 students in 7-12 schools)
- WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 9th, 2020 - Grade 10 only (+ Grade 8 students in 7-12 schools)
- THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 10th, 20200 - Grade 11 only (+ Grades 7 & 8 in 7-12 schools)
- FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 11th, 2020 - Grade 12 only (and Grades 7 & 8 in 7-12 schools)
- MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 14th, 2020 - All JK-12 students
Remote learning officially begins, however students will be contacted during the first week to establish/confirm courses, timetables and technology use.
OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The Daily Secondary Schedule and Lunch Period is organized as follows:
- 8:15 a.m. -->1st Bell
- 8:30 a.m. – 11:10 a.m. --> Opening Exercises and Scheduled Class with Staggered Break
- 11:10 a.m. – 11:50 p.m. --> Lunch
- 11:50 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. --> Scheduled Class with Staggered Break
Semester 1 – September 1, 2020 to February 5, 2021
- Term/Quadmester 1 – September 8, 2020 to November 16, 2020
- Term/Quadmester 2 – November 17, 2020 to February 4, 2021
Semester 2 – February 8, 2021 to June 30, 2021
- Term 3 – February 8, 2021 to April 21, 2021
- Term 4 – April 22, 2021 to June 29, 2021
